Where History Meets Vision

The O.A.C. is a building that has stood the test of time, and has seen many different eras. Built in 1889 by the English Architect William Quayle, it was originally the Armory for the Colorado State Militia. In 1913, it was sold into private hands, where it was turned into a boxing venue, called the Olympic Auditorium, which is the namesake for its current iteration. In the 1940’s, it became Art Neon, which was the biggest sign plant between Chicago and San Francisco. The current owner bought the building in the early 1990’s to be used as a warehouse for his company, Scientific Site Construction. Since his early days of ownership, he has maintained the basement floor of the building as rehearsal studios for local musicians. Today, it continues to house over a dozen practice spaces, and is home to the Denver-based companies House of Pod and Kitcaster Podcast Agency. The building also hosts photographers and videographers in its main space, and is equipped to display visual media of all kinds on its historic walls.
